Happy Texas Independence Day!

DS: Today my great state is celebrating the 176th anniversary of its independence from Mexico. The rebellion that ended in a republic was ugly, unjust, and its participants are probably now suffering hellfire for all eternity. The history of Texas taught to me when I was a wee child was a pack of bull poo. It made the mexicans look like the most vile human beings on the face of the earth and the anglos the heroes. I'm glad that I can research what really happened in order to better appreciate the creation of this state that is very dear to my heart. Yes, despite the ugliness of the war, the awful racism and injustice that conceived it, I love Texas. I consider myself a Texan-American and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. God has a way of bringing goodness out of evil. Texas is a prime example of this.

VEE: I wash myself with a Texas flag on a stick. Furthermore

DS:

ANYWAYS

Happy Independence Day, y'all!

TO ALL MY TEXAS READERS! CHEERS!

Vee, get ur butt down to Texas so we can go to the Shiner brewery!

VEE: Shiner beer?!?!?!?! Welllll.... I guess there are SOME good things about Texas after all. Wait, are you trying to lure me down there with beer so you can kick my butt for making fun of your lame-o state???

DS: Just come on down...I'll be waiting for ya...

VEE: ok...

to be continued....

  1. I think I went through 3rd, 4th and part of 5th grade in Texas, the thing that sticks out the most in my muddled memory of my academic career there was 'Remember the Alamo, remember Goliad"

Anyways, my first interaction with OPsoul on a certain phorum was her chiding me for positively procaliming the plight of the Texan revolutionaries.

Way to be consistent with you convictions.

    1. Max, i have no idea what you are talking about... can you send me a link? I have had these attitudes for a while... but they slowly evolved. I didn't used to feel this way, as I was brainwashed by the texas public school system...

    2. It was a thread about the Alamo, probably about the shirt dust made. I wasn't saying you were inconsistent, I was pointing out how you displayed similar views on that thread and that you basically owned me by pointing out some factoids that we tend to gloss over in our exuberance when we exclaim "Remember the Alamo!"

  4. I had to correct her spelling of independence as well as her incorrect and hateful ideas towards Carmelites and PRicans.

  7. I deleted the previous comments because I realized it was better to reply directly to DS's comment and I typed some dumb stuff and I like seeing my profile pic.

    1. perhaps vee, but it's hard to tell what it is because you need a magnifying glass to see it. How are you supposed to read the text on the scroll?

  9. Wait, Texas celebrates independence day? Well what does Mexico celebrate? or should I say how do they celebrate that day?

My SIL must be more Mexican than Texan cause she didn't want to do nada on Texas' independence day.
